Targeting wireless manufacturers needing to meet radio frequency (RF) specifications with minimal noise and low power consumption, the TPS791xx and TPS792xx low dropout (LDO) regulators are said to be optimized for battery management applications based on low-current microcontrollers. Using a proprietary BiCMOS process, the devices exhibit a low quiescent current and a dropout voltage of 50 mV under a full load of 100 mA.Other features include output noise characteristics rated at 27 µV, power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 75 dB at 10 kHz, and small-footprint SC70 surface-mount and SC70 Pico packages. With 12 devices offered in the series, depending on the model, price is either $0.50 or $0.37 each/1,000.
