With a focus on design flexibility, the MAX6870 and MAX6871 EEPROM-programmable power-supply sequencers/supervisors integrate a 10-bit a/d converter and provide voltage monitoring, supervisory functions, margining control and sequencing control. The devices are programmable through an I2C interface that selects monitored voltage thresholds, sequence and reset-timing specifications, and sets output configurations. The MAX6870 features six voltage-detector inputs and eight programmable outputs, while the MAX6871 features four voltage-detector inputs and five programmable outputs. Each voltage detector offers dual voltage thresholds in 10 mV increments for under-voltage, over-voltage, or dual under-voltage detection. Shared features include four general-purpose inputs, two watchdog timers, and a manual reset input. Available in 7 mm x 7 mm QFN packages, prices for the MAX6870 and MAX6871 are $6.39 and $5.83 each/1,000, respectively. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
