Quad-Port Integrated Connector Modules Deliver 100-W PoE

June 21, 2019
Bel Magnetic Solution’s four-port Magjack ICMs offer maximum power of 100 W or 1 A over a standard Ethernet cable.

Bel Magnetic Solutions, a Bel group company involved in the design and manufacture of MagJack integrated connector modules (ICMs), recently introduced a four-port solution offering maximum power100 W or 1 Aover a standard Ethernet cable. Customers can implement 100-W Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to double the amount of power their products manage over existing applications, while operating at Gigabit Ethernet speeds, says the company.

Today’s PoE products demand high power. Satisfying this requirement, the four-port MagJack ICM can transmit or receive 0 to 100 W of power per port over all four pairs within the Ethernet cable while maintaining the bandwidth of the Gigabit Ethernet signal, claims the company. They are used in either power-supply equipment (PSE) or a powered device (PD), and are backward-compatible to reduce speeds and lower powers using industry-standard footprints and pinouts. According to the company, these features make the quad-port MagJack ICM ideal for 5G cellular applications, switches, routers, and larger boxes found in high-power-sourcing applications, higher-bandwidth wireless access points, base stations, and large-screen video display units. The common part number: 0826-1X4T-HS-F

Products are now available at Digi-Key, Mouser, and Newark. For technical information, visit here.
