The ISL6263A single-phase core controller is tailored to Intel's Santa Rosa graphics processing unit (GPU) and varies the output voltage and operation modes corresponding to the GPU control protocol. Its ripple regulator stabilizes current flow and allows less time between wave peaks. The 5-bit, controller provides 0.5% system accuracy over its temperature range, which allows wider tolerance of inductors. Other features include differential remote GPU-die voltage sensing, differential droop voltage sensing, real-time GPU power monitor output, input-voltage range from 5V to 25V, programmable PWM frequency from 200 kHz to 500 kHz, and a gate driver with 2A drive. Price is $3.80 each/1,000. INTERSIL CORP., Milpitas, CA. (888) 352-6832.
