Measuring 2 by 2 mm, the TClamp1202P is the smallest low-cap, high-surge, 12-V (VRWM) transient voltage protection array in its class, according to developer Semtech. With its 100 A (8x20-µs waveform) of surge immunity, the device can be used in various industrial and telecommunications applications to safeguard sensitive communications transceivers from electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT), cable discharge, and lightning surge transients. The two-line protection array features low clamping voltage and a line-to-line capacitance of less than 12 pF. Furthermore, its flow-through layout helps enhance signal quality and design flexibility. Transient protection for high-speed data lines meets IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ±30 kV (air), ±30 kV (contact); IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) 40 A (5/50 ns); and IEC 61000-4-5 (lightning) 100 A (8/20 µs). Working voltage protection equals 12 V. Specific applications include wireless basestations and digital surveillance cameras.
