Promising to reduce part counts and costs, the ISL6413 triple-output regulator is designed to power wireless LAN chipsets. The device includes one PWM, two low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators, and a reset for the baseband processor/media access controller. It comes in a QFN package measuring 4 mm x 4 mm that is said to rapidly transfer heat away from the IC. Compared to a standard LDO, the chip reduces current consumption from a 3.3V supply by as much as 100 mA. Other features include voltage sequencing for BBP/MAC and analog supplies, thermal shutdown, current limiting, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection, power good, programmable reset delay, and complimentary reset outputs.
