Viable for a wide variety of applications from portables to automotive circuitry and deployable as a precision programmable current source in high-linearity oscillators and F/V converters, the ZXCT1020 high-side current monitor produces an output current with accuracy as high as 1%. In a five-pin SOT23 package, the device provides a 2.5V to 20V common mode voltage range and is configurable with low-cost external resistors. Output can be scaled independently of the sense resistor, using one resistor to set the transconductance and another to set the overall gain and output impedance. Other specs include a 3% accuracy for a 10-mV sense voltage, typical operating current consumption of 25 µA, and an operating temperature range from -40ºC to 85ºC. Price is $0.475 each/10,000.
