Cylindrical Connectors Are Rugged Enough For Harsh Environments

A new commercial series of rugged and environmental 38999-type connectors is designed for use in harsh-environment, commercial/industrial applications, including power, signal, RF and fiber optics. The environment- and corrosion-resistant, lightweight, AMPHE-LITE series connectorsÑinter-mountable with the companyÕs Mil Spec 38999 connectorsÑfeature a positive shell-to-shell coupling design, grounding fingers, and electro-less nickel plating for ample EMI shielding capability. Acme threads ensure coupling durability and blunting of the thread on both the coupling nut and receptacle eliminates cross coupling. The connector quickly mates and self locks with a 360¡ turn of the coupling nut, while an anti-vibration mechanism prevents the connector from backing off. An interfacial seal and rear grommet ensure complete environmental sealing to prevent any electronic erosion.
