Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have completed a prototype device that can block digital-camera functions in a given area. Commercial versions of the technology could be used to stop unwanted use of video or still cameras. The prototype device uses off-the-shelf equipment—camera-mounted sensors, lighting equipment, a projector, and a computer—to scan for, find, and neutralize digital cameras...
With design libraries being called upon to support more voltage and temperature process corners, nanometer IC designs are making for more convoluted design flows. Join this free webcast to learn how Synopsys' Galaxy design platform uses the Composite Current Source (CCS) modeling technology to address all these nanometer design challenges while simplifying your design flow.

Free Webcast: Overcoming The Top Five Challenges In Electro-Mechanical Product Development
Wednesday, June 28, 2006 @ 11am PT (2pm ET)
Electrical engineers using ECAD tools do not have full and immediate visibility into the actions of mechanical engineers using MCAD tools and vice versa. This webcast will give you a better understanding of how the increasing inclusion of software and electronics is making product development more complex, and how you can find out-of-the-box solutions that will simplify the process, eliminate the complexity, and improve productivity.

Online Power-Management Design Tool Cuts Down On Iterations
Aiming to simplify power-management circuit design, International Rectifier has expanded its online design tools and added three reference designs for its POWIR+ chip sets. The first series of POWIR+ chip sets are based on IR’s IR3637S and IR3637AS controllers. They target single-phase synchronous buck converter applications in computing and high-end consumer applications...
Design Contest Promotes Creative Prototyping System
The first annual Schmartie Awards will reward exceptional electronic circuit designs produced with an innovative prototyping system from Fremont, Calif.-based SchmartBoard. The prototyping technology simplifies the creation of electronic circuits for both hobbyists and engineers...
By Daniel Minoli
Both Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and version 6 of the Internet Protocol have already been adopted and are in use. But neither has penetrated to a majority of the systems out there. Both have a long way to go. If you happen to be involved with either, this book can make things clearer...
