The A230 OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Micro-ImageChecker is a high-speed dual camera image-processing unit that includes five character dictionaries for maximum flexibility. It provides 512 x 480-pixel resolution and 256 gray scale. Its first and second dictionaries contain standard OCR-A and OCR-B fonts. The other three dictionaries permit user-assigned characters, which enable the unit to detect special fonts. Image processing functions include an automatic retention memory (8 images), smart matching (automatic pattern detection), optical character verification, and multiple communication protocols for a number of different vendors.
