NAS Appliances Offer Two Levels Of Performance

Sept. 1, 2001

The POPnetserver 2000 and 4000 network attached storage (NAS) appliances offer users two levels of performance: the POPnetserver 2000 is designated as an entry-level system whereas the POPnetserver 4000 addresses high-capacity requirements. Offered as a standalone, stackable or rack-mount unit, the 2000 comes in 40, 80 or 120 GB configurations and supports mixed NT, Apple, Netware and UNIX environments. With a maximum of 320 GB, the 4000 is pre-configured for RAID 5 plus hot sparing in a 1U enclosure. A built-in sequential multi-kernel boot technique allows it to boot from any drive within the system. Prices for the POPnetserver 2000 and 4000 are $795 and $1,495 each, respectively.
