Otto Controls' Value-Added Distributors Final-Assemble Switches

Otto Controls, Carpentersville, IL, a manufacturer of precision switches, has implemented a new program for their value-added distributors, enabling them to final-assemble OTTO P9 pushbutton switches from produced components. The advantage for the customer is they are able to take quick delivery of small quantities of customized combinations of switch functions and features. P9 lead time is said to be reduced from six weeks to off-the-shelf through the program. P9 pushbuttons are moisture-proof and dust-tight sealed switches featuring dome-shaped buttons available in nine colors and two styles, switch 5A and are capable of exceeding a million mechanical operations.Under the new program, Otto distributors stock P9 series switch sub-assemblies and assorted button cap colors and styles. From this stock, the distributor then assembles the specified configuration to order. P9 Dome switches are offered in two button versions: low-button profile and high-button profile are are designed for use in panels, control grips, computers, and instruments.
