Power Connectors Allow Blind Mating

Aug. 1, 1999

Meeting the demand for modular blindmate connections in the power and communications industries, Blindmate Powerpole Pak housings permit blindmating of a 2 x 4 configuration of firm’s 15/45 Powerpole connectors as well as 10A and 30A make-first/break-last contacts for grounding. Firm’s Powerpole Paks are a solution for rack and panel applications. The combination of spring loading and generous chamfers provide a maximum 0.450” of vertical and 0.470” radial misalignment. The Blindmate receptacle allows for direct attachment to a PCB in right-angle or vertical orientation when used with the Powerpole 25A PCB contacts. Similar to the Powerpole 15/45, the blindmate housings are made of high-impact and corrosion-resistant thermoplastic, UL94V-0 rated. Contacts will accept wire gauges of 20 to 10 AWG.
