Sealing Technique Eliminates Need For Slide Switch Boots

product pic

An ultra-miniature line of slide switches has been developed that use an internal O-ring and an epoxy seal to enable the switches to withstand wave and reflow soldering and cleaning processes. No protective boot is required. The ES Series of sealed slide switches has a highly compact design- dimensions are 0.484"H x 0.237"W- and feature a terminal spacing of 0.100" and an actuator travel of just 0.090".The tiny slide switches also provide anti-static protection to 8 kV and have a contact rating of 0.4 VA max. at 20 vac or vdc and an initial contact resistance of 50 milliohm max. In addition, mechanical and electrical life for the switches is 40,000 make-and-break cycles at full load and their operating temperature range extends from -30°C to 85°C. Available in SMT, through-hole and right-angle styles, ES Series slide switches are suited for use in computers, modems, telecomm equipment, and more.
