Simulation Apps Support 64-Bit Architectures

Introduced as the industry's first 64-bit HDL simulators, the ModelSim EE and SE simulation applications have been enhanced to support 64-bit computer architectures. The upgrade expands their capabilities to accommodate system-on-chip verification. The company is currently beta testing the new versions to 64-bit HP-UX and Sun Solaris platforms. Support for IBM RISC/6000 and Intel's Itanium is expected later this year. Mixed-HDL simulation is available for the Linux environment as well. The new platform will be included as part of the ModelSim EE and SE products and will be available to customers on maintenance for no additional charge.
