SMT Modular Jack Keeps EMI/RFI At Bay With Grounding Tabs

A new surface-mount modular jack features an SMT shield with top and side ground tabs for better conductivity, panel grounding and EMI/RFI protection. The low-profile RJ45 jack measures 12.30 mm in height and is intended for networking and telecomm/datacomm applications, such as NICs, hubs and DSL/cable modems. Made of black NY46 high-temperature plastic, the shielded jack meets Category 5 performance specifications. It also features positioning posts. Contacts are available with two types of gold plating: gold flash and 50 µ". Packaging styles include standard tray and tape-and-reel for automatic placement.
