Transformers Support IP And Switch Applications Without Using External Power

Nov. 1, 2000

The company's three-module family of 10/100 Base-TX, dual transformers support up to 300 mA on standard LAN cabling, thereby eliminating the need for external power. The transformers are also said to be designed to interface with most major manufacturers' transceivers and meet IEEE 802.3 standards. All three transformers have an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, an isolation voltage of 1,500 Vrms, and a primary inductance of 350 µH. Designed specifically for IP phones, the S558-5500-02 measures 0.542" x 0.480" x 0.250" and the S558-5500-04 measures 0.552" x 0.6" x 0.25". Specified for switch applications, the S558-5500-12 measures 0.552" x 0.6" x 0.25". The transformers are available in tubes and tape-and-reel packaging with prices starting at $2.27 each/10,000 with delivery from stock to six weeks.
