Trimming down for deployment in DSL applications, the B78416A1850A003 (EP5XL) inductor is 25% smaller in area, 31% lower in height, and 48% smaller in volume than its predecessor, the B78417A1764A003 (EP7). The component measures 64.5 mm2 and 7 mm in height while consuming an over-all volume of 451.5 mm3. Despite its smaller core volume, the transformer retains the same longitudinal balance and THD values as the EP7.
