RF Test Socket Features Small Lead Pitch

The smallest lead pitch available for testing high frequency devices is said to be provided by a new test socket for QFP and other device packages with 0.4-mm lead pitch. The socket can be furnished for any peripheral leaded package. The 0.4-mm lead pitch sockets are said to offer reliability and long life. Life cycles are typically greater than 500,000 insertions/withdrawals with no loss of performance. The contacts provide just 0.01 nH self-inductance per contact. The sockets exhibit 10.0 GHz frequency response with 1.0 dB signal loss. Temperature range is -55°C to +170°C. The RF test sockets are available in lead counts up to 208, in both manual and automatic versions. Pricing for a 48-lead MQFP socket in a five-piece quantity is $1,174.
