Introduced as a platform that lowers the cost of test for a wide range of electronic component makers, the Series 2600 System instruments include the single-channel Model 2601 and the dual-channel Model 2602 source meters. Based on third-generation source-measure technology, the instruments combine what is reportedly the industry’s highest throughput source-measure unit (SMU) with a scalable instrument form factor for seamless integration into systems from one to 16 SMU channels. They feature the company’s embedded Test Script Processor (TSP) that lets users program a sequence of test commands and execute high-speed automated test sequences independently of a PC operating system. Other features include Test Script Builder development software that provides a simple GUI, an integrated suite of pre-written TSP programs, and LabTracer 2.0 software for instrument control, data acquisition, and curve tracing in lab or device-characterization applications. Prices for the Model 2601 and Model 2602 start at $5,495 and $7,995, respectively. KEITHLEY INSTRUMENTS INC., Cleveland, OH. (800) 688-9951.
