Chiplets are about two things: die and connectivity. Chiplets are being used for a variety of reasons from tackling the reticle limit to mixing transistor technologies for optimum performance. Fabricating a system from a mix of chiplets allows developers to choose the best die for a task but chiplets must be connected together to provide anything useful.
