The MultiGuard Series of bidirectional transient voltage suppressors, which feature small case sizes, provide bi-directional ESD protection, EMI attenuation, and subnanosecond response time.
The devices come in 0405 two-element, 0508 two- and four-element, and 0612 four-element case sizes. According to the company, they consume less than half the space needed by the equivalent number of discrete chips. The chips are available with standard working voltages of 5.6, 9, 14 and 18 V. Their operating-temperature range is −55°C to 125°C, and capacitance ranges from 225 to 825 pF. Pricing ranges from $0.12 to $0.26 in 1000-unit quantities.
Direct-Solder SMD 5- By 20-mm Fuses Eliminate Axial Leads

The FST/SPT series of SMD 5- by 20-mm fuses are soldered directly onto the PCB. Gold-plated end-caps enable direct solder to the PCB and allow the fuses to easily withstand the heat of the soldering process. This configuration eliminates the need for conventional axial leads.
The FST and SPT have current ranges of 20 A and 1500 A, respectively at 250 V ac., allowing for the safe interruption of a dangerous fault. The fuses are available in tape-and-reel packaging with 2000 pieces/reel. Pricing starts at $0.36 for 100 pieces.
Transient Voltage Suppressor Arrays
Protect Handheld Devices From ESD

The SP050x surface-mount family of TVS Avalanche Diode arrays is designed to protect analog and digital signals from ESD transients. According to the company, these devices are suited for high-speed signal line protection in handheld and portable devices.
Features include a low capacitance of 30 pF and a low clamping voltage of 9.2 V. The SP050x can sustain ESD of 20 kV per IEC standard and 30 kV per the Human Body Model (HBM). The arrays are unidirectional and protect multiple data lines in the ultra-small SOT23, TSSOP, and MSOP packages. Prices range from $0.16 to $0.42 each for 100,000-unit quantities, depending on packaging.
