Design FAQ: IP Video Surveillance

Digital cameras fit today's model of industrial/commercial surveillance better than analog cameras.  They have better resolution, and digital recording lends itself better to after-the-fact enhancement and review of events. One issue slowing the move to digital, though, is the transmission medium.  Even though CAT5 is cheaper than good coax, money-pinched organizations would like to take advantage of the coax they already have an investment in.  Also, without a switch or repeater, CAT5 is limited in usable distance. Here's an approach that allows the use of existing (or new) coaxial plant for high-def digital surveillance. Please fill out this brief registration form to access this important FAQ!
