An XY Gantry motion system targets precision inspection and component assembly applications with a resolution of 0.0025 µm. Overall positioning repeatability is rated at 1 µm. To meet the needs of high-throughput production environments, the unit provides a peak acceleration of 1 G and a velocity of 1 m/s. Typical move-and-settle time is less than 150 ms for a 40-mm move. The standard XY travel measures 460 by 520 mm, with other travels available. A lapped, natural granite structure supports the system and provides the precision surfaces for the machine geometric tolerances. In small quantities, pricing ranges from $15,000 to $25,000, depending upon configuration and options. OEM pricing for production quantities ranges from $12,000 to $19,000. Typical lead time is 10 to 12 weeks.
