The ESD-SafeT X7R multilayer ceramic (MLC) capacitors developed by AVX Corp. are specifically designed for general electrostatic–discharge (ESD) protection
A new series of multilayer ceramic (MLC) capacitors developed by AVX Corp. is specifically designed for general electrostatic–discharge (ESD) protection. The ESD-SafeT X7R caps come in small 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes, suiting them for high-density electronic devices such as automotive modules. They protect general-purpose I/O gates from ESD damage during the connector-to-wiring-harness mating operation. Meeting AECQ200 qualifications, the capacitors are available in 25-, 50-, and 100-V versions. They feature ±15% capacitance variation, and are rated for use in the -55°C to 125°C temperature range. The series also comes with FLEXITERM soft terminations, which offer double the board flexure versus standard terminations and protect electrical integrity from external forces.
