Automotive Converters

The PCMDS60W series of dc-dc converters from MTM Power are designed for automotive applications. These primary-switched converters have outputs of 60 W and feature push-pull operation at approximately 70 kHz. With a transformer and a secondary linear choke, a galvanically isolated output voltage (5.2 V, 12 V or 24 V) is regulated by current-mode PWM.

The converters, measuring 130 mm long × 69 mm wide × 30 mm high, are available with a wide input range to support battery voltages of 24 V, 36 V, 72 V, 96 V and 110 V. The connectors are linked by spring clamps to reduce wiring time. The converters need no ground load and are maintenance-free and short-circuit protected by primary and secondary power limitation. The converters must be mounted on a heat-dissipating surface for cooling.
