Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe’s MB85RC256V FRAM, featuring a wide voltage range of 2.7 v to 5.5 V, offers 256 kbit density using a configuration of 32 kwords by 8 bits. According to the company, that represents the highest density among its V series members. The device’s I2C serial interfaces have maximum operating frequencies of 400 kHz at 2.7 V to 4.5 V, or 1 MHz at 4.5 V to 5.5 V. All FRAMs in the series come in EEPROM-compatible, 8-pin plastic SOP packages. The MB85RC256V offers 10-year data retention at 85°C and an endurance rating of 1 trillion (1012) read/write cycles. That will guarantee operation over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
