The half-rack 4U SGA Analog RF Signal Generators, first in the company’s new S-Series, incorporate an intuitive LCD touchscreen interface. The SGA 3 has an operating frequency range of 100 kHz to 3 GHz, and the SGA 6 covers 100 kHz to 6 GHz.
A modular format featuring the new Aerolock™ locking mechanism allows RF instruments to be mechanically coupled externally. The SGAs also provide a typical single sideband phase noise specification of -135 dBc/Hz at 20 kHz offset from a 1-GHz carrier, 1-ms settling times in the conventional frequency selection mode or 100 µs in the list mode, and +13-dBm maximum RF output power with 0.01-dB resolution. The power level can be switched by an electronic attenuator in <100 µs to within 0.1 dB of the final value, and repeatability is better than 0.05 dB.
