Co-developed digitizers generate 12.5-GS/s rates

Two new NI PXIe 3U digitizers feature Tektronix^® Enabling Technology: the PXIe-5186 delivers 5-GHz bandwidth and the PXIe-5185 3-GHz bandwidth, both with 12.5-GS/s sample rates. They provide a 500-fs rms integrated jitter resulting in a 5.5 ENOB at 5 GHz. The digitizers also stream at rates as fast as 700 MB/s and synchronize channels on multiple modules to within160-ps resolution.

The digitizers work with NI LabVIEW software for instrument control and automation, the NI LabWindows/CVI ANSI C software development environment, and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET development tools for a range of programming options. They can be programmed using the NI-SCOPE instrument driver or the LabVIEW Jitter Analysis Toolkit with a library of functions for high-throughput, jitter, eye diagram, and phase noise measurements.
