Tools for T1 E1 Line Test
Enhanced Protocol Identifier and Traffic Classifier tools classify traffic and protocols over T1 E1 lines. The Protocol Identifier and Traffic Classifier applications can help network engineers understand, analyze, and perform traffic engineering on T1 E1 networks. The Protocol Identifier application is capable of detecting protocols such as ISDN, ATM, HDLC, MTP2, LAPD, SS7, PPP, GSM, GSM Abis, TRAU, and Frame Relay. The Traffic Classifier application can analyze different types of voiceband traffic such as voice, fax, data, and tones (dial and ring) carried over T1 E1 lines. GL Communications
Precision Power Scope
The PX8000 brings oscilloscope-style, time-based measurement to the world of power measurement. It can capture voltage and current waveforms precisely, opening up applications and solutions for a variety of emerging power-measurement problems.
The new instrument has 12-bit resolution with 100-MS/s sampling and 20-MHz bandwidth. The PX8000 can be used for accurate measurement of inverter pulse shapes, which then can be used to fine-tune inverter efficiency. A choice of input modules covers voltage, current, and sensor measurements at voltages up to 1000 V rms and currents up to 5 A rms, with a basic accuracy of ±0.1%. Yokogawa Test and Measurement
500-MHz Analysis-Bandwidth Option
The new R&S FSW-B500 hardware option expands the analysis bandwidth for R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzers to 500 MHz. The R&S FSW family supports measurements to 67 GHz. The option enables new applications for the signal and spectrum analyzer in research and development. The analyzer is suited for sophisticated measurement tasks in radar or satellite applications as well as for tests on fast wireless connections such as WLAN or Beyond 4G (5G).
The large analysis bandwidth allows users to test pulse rise and fall times from approximately 3 ns or very short pulses from an 8-ns pulse width. Users can fully record and measure radar chirps with up to 500-MHz bandwidth. Rohde & Schwarz
USB Multisensor Module
Any sensor merely has to be connected at an input, and all selections, including any necessary for excitation, cold-junction compensation, or bridge completion, are supported by QuickDAQ. No other circuitry or external components are necessary. The DT9829 is available with two, four, or eight analog inputs with prices starting at $895. OEM versions also are available. Data Translation
Real-Time Calculation for 1-kV DAQ Card
A new isolated 1-kV data-acquisition card lets the vendor’s data recorders perform real-time calculations on the fly while allowing users to view results immediately. The new card also enables Genesis HighSpeed recorders to calculate more precise results. Many data recorders offer an average value for a block of data over a certain time period. The 1-kV card, instead, provides values per half cycle at sampling rates of up to 2 million samples/second at voltages up to +1,000 V. For example, users can see dynamic data such as currents and voltages produced when an electric motor is accelerated. HBM
Temperature Controller
The 5R7-570(A) RoHS-compliant open-board electronic temperature controller is designed with a proportional integral algorithm to provide precise control to thermoelectric (Peltier-effect) modules. The H-bridge temperature-control function provides a seamless transition between heating and cooling, eliminating dead spots. A green LED for heat and blue LED for cooling indicate mode, and simultaneous illumination shows the load circuit is off due to an open sensor. Pulse-width modulation controls the power level in the thermoelectric module at a base frequency of 1 kHz. Power resolution is one of ±250 steps. Oven Industries
Low-Power Sensor Hub
The SSC7102 is a low-power, flexible, and turnkey sensor hub that makes implementing sensor fusion easy and provides a large selection of supported sensors. The vendor partnered with multiple sensor manufacturers and sensor-fusion specialists to create this implementation, enabling faster time to market without the need for sensor-fusion expertise. The SSC7102 also is efficient. It consumes about 4 mA while running complex sensor-fusion algorithms, resulting in longer battery life for Windows 8.1 tablets, laptops, ultrabooks, and smartphones. The hub is available in a 6-mm x 6-mm BGA package and priced at $2.69 each in 10,000-unit quantities. Microchip Technology
