Arbitrary/Function Generators

The FG400 Series of arbitrary/function generators includes of the Model FG410 single-channel unit and the FG420 two-channel version. Each FG400 generates basic, application-specific, and arbitrary waveforms. The sine-wave frequency range is 0.01 µHz to 30 MHz. Output waveforms consist of sine, square, pulse, ramp, parameter-variable, noise (Gaussian distribution), DC, and arbitrary. The output voltage is 20-Vpp open circuit or 10-Vpp into 50 Ω. Isolated outputs allow the unit to be used in the development of floating circuits like motor drives, inverters, power supplies, and other power electronic devices.

The FG400 function generators have the arbitrary waveform function as standard. They can generate waveforms that are acquired by the vendor’s DL850E ScopeCorder or DLM4000 Digital Oscilloscope and the XviewerLITE software (freeware). Yokogawa Test and Measurement

ESD Suppression Devices

Five new ESD suppression devices in the ESD8000 transient voltage suppressor series protect today’s most advanced interfaces. The devices achieve maximum capacitance specification of 0.35 pF and ESD clamping voltages down to 8 V at 16 A, equivalent to IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 8-kV contact. The low capacitance nearly eliminates any degradation to the data-line signal integrity at data rates greater than 10 Gb/s, supporting emerging interfaces such as USB 3.0, USB 3.1, HDMI 2.0, and Thunderbolt. The low clamping voltage improves protection of system-level ESD testing as chipsets evolve into geometries below 20 nm, making them more sensitive to transient voltage. ON Semiconductor

Data Logger

The DI-160 event, state, and count data logger offers four programmable measurement modes. The stand-alone data logger allows you to determine when events occur, the total number of events, and the period of time between events. The DI-160 can count parts by monitoring the pulse output of a proximity sensor or determine the downtime of machinery by monitoring AC power.

Four ±300-VDC/peak-AC isolated channels accommodate high-level DC voltage signals, pulse inputs up 2 kHz, or AC line voltage. Four ±30-VDC/peak-AC nonisolated channels (pulled high) permit you to monitor lower level DC voltages, TTL-level signals, or switch closures. Included with the device is the vendor’s Event Recorder setup software. $299. DATAQ Instruments

The LTC2107 achieves 80-dB SNR performance and 98-dB spurious-free dynamic range at baseband. The digital output randomizer and alternate bit polarity mode reduce unwanted tones caused by digital feedback. The flexible digital outputs can run as full-rate CMOS for sample rates below 100 MS/s or double data rate LVDS.

The LTC2107 delivers an extensive feature set in a 7-mm x 7-mm QFN package and dissipates 1.3 W without the need for heat sinking. From $99.00 each in 1,000-piece quantities. Linear Technology

Integrating Sphere Calibration Standard

The ISS-17-VA integrating sphere source calibration standard for spectral radiance and luminance offers a variable light-intensity output while maintaining a constant color temperature. Through spectral radiance calibration of the illumination field, the integrating sphere light source can be used as a calibration standard for comparison of imaging spectrometers as well as for spectral radiance calibration of spectral meters. In these applications, halogen lamps at 3,100K color temperature are used to ensure optimum intensity in the blue spectral range. Another desirable feature of halogen lamps as spectral radiance and luminance calibration standards is a continuous and stable luminous spectrum. Gigahertz-Optik

L- and S-Band Amplifiers

A new portfolio of L- and S-band high-gain amplifiers covers 1.2 GHz to 1.4 GHz and 3.1 GHz to 3.5 GHz. The amplifiers specifically target commercial and military radar applications as well as observation satellites and communications systems.
