Vector Network Analyzer

The ShockLine RF vector network analyzer is specifically designed to meet the price/performance considerations associated with testing passive multiport and differential devices. The instruments employ a scaled-down version of the technology integrated into the company’s flagship VectorStar instruments. The name “ShockLine” refers to nonlinear transmission-line technology.

The Economy ShockLine MS46322A supports two-port VNA for measurements up to 40 GHz. The MS46524A four-port VNAs for differential and multiport device testing are available in two models—one which covers the 10 MHz to 4.5 GHz frequency range and a second instrument that extends frequency coverage to 7 GHz. From $34,950. Anritsu

AC/DC Current Probes

CT6841 and the CT6843 AC/DC current probes are rated at 20 A and 200 A, respectively. Principal applications include evaluation of electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle motor efficiency (measuring current inside an engine compartment) and evaluation of the efficiency of inverters and power conditioners used in solar power systems.

Accuracy for the CT6841 and CT6843 is 0.3% of reading (vs. 0.5% of reading for legacy models). The measurement frequency bands for the CT6841 and CT6843 are DC to 1 MHz and DC to 500 kHz, respectively (vs. 100 kHz for legacy models). Hioki E.E.

Smart Camera

The NEON-1040 features a quad-core Intel Atom processor; a 1.9-GHz, 2,048- x 2,048-pixel, 60-fps, 1-inch monochrome CMOS global shutter image sensor; and PWM lighting-control support. Software support and API compatibility enable easy migration from the original platforms, making it simple for system integrators to fulfill a variety of inspection application needs. FPGA coprocessor accelerates image preprocessing.

The NEON-1040 presents a minimal footprint at 68.5 mm x 110 mm x 52.7 mm. An additional GigE port enables easy connectivity with external devices, such as GigE Vision slave cameras and EtherCAT with I/O control modules. ADLINK Technology

Channelized Emulation and Analysis

LightSpeed1000 offers channelized emulation and analysis of T1s and E1s. With its architecture, thousands of DS0 channels within T1s and E1s can be accessed directly within an optical SONET or SDH structure.

LightSpeed1000 provides channelized SONET and SDH mapping to T1 E1 framing modes. When the LightSpeed1000 is configured in the SDH framing mode, it can support bidirectional channelization into 63 independent E1 channels. When configured for the SONET framing mode, the LightSpeed1000 can support bidirectional channelization into 84 independent T1 channels. GL Communications

Thermal Imager

With the shift toward predictive maintenance, the U5855A TrueIR thermal imager allows engineers to safely and efficiently identify potential faults without shutting down the systems or disrupting the productivity of an industrial plant.

The U5855A comes with Fine Resolution capability, which enhances the quality of thermal images by reconstructing the image based on multiple continuously captured infrared frames. This allows the U5855A to achieve an effective image resolution of 320 x 240 pixels from a 160- x 120-pixel detector. With this feature, the U5855A provides four times more resolution than typical 160 x 120 thermal imagers. Together with a 4x digital zoom, the U5855A reveals finer details, especially when inspecting small cracks on industrial pipelines even from a distance away. RF Power Tool System

The RF Power Tool System is designed to simplify the development of RF power applications and help customers create new and differentiated RF power solutions. The system allows users to define RF conditions for their applications and provides easy system validation and real-time performance monitoring and data logging. The tool offers temperature sensing, voltage sensing, and power detection.

The generator operates from 1 MHz to 2.5 GHz in 1-Hz steps; level is adjustable in 0.5-dB steps. RF power measurement (forward and reflected) capability extends from 1 mW to 2 kW. $5,000. Freescale Semiconductor

Vector Signal Generator

The R&S SGT100A vector signal generator covers the frequency range from 80 MHz to 6 GHz. It is equipped with an integrated baseband generator that supports a maximum bandwidth of 160 MHz. Using the R&S WinIQSIM2 PC software, the generator can deliver test signals for all major digital standards such as LTE, 3GPP, and WLAN IEEE 802.11ac.

Frequency and level switchover times typically are 240 µs. Taking up just one height unit and one half of a 19-inch rack width, the R&S SGT100A offers a three-year recommended service interval. Feature upgrades can be performed at the customer’s location. Rohde & Schwarz

Programmable Power Supplies

TDK-Lambda Z+ series of 200-W and 400-W programmable DC power supplies now is available with output voltages of up to 160, 320, or 650 VDC, extending the line-up from 100 VDC maximum. These higher voltages address the requirements for applications such as deposition processes, remotely operated underwater vehicles, ATE systems, and general laboratory and industrial use.

Carrying a five-year warranty, the Z+ high-voltage models have the same features and compact dimensions (2U high and 2.76 inches wide) as the existing models and achieve efficiencies of up to 86%. The units can operate in either constant-current or constant-voltage modes. TDK

Energy Harvesting Battery Charger

The LTC3331 forms a complete energy harvesting solution that delivers up to 50 mA of continuous output current to extend battery life when harvestable energy is available. A simple 10-mA shunt enables charging of a rechargeable battery with harvested energy while a low-battery disconnect function protects the battery from deep discharge. The LTC3331 requires only 200 nA of supply current from the battery when providing regulated power to the load from harvested energy and only 950 nA when powered from the battery under no-load conditions. From $3.55 each for 1,000-piece quantities. Linear Technology

1,200-W DC Power Supplies

The 9115 Series of multirange DC power supplies has been expanded with the addition of Models 9115-AT and 9116. Like the 9115, the new models deliver full output power of 1,200 W in any combination of voltage and current within the rated limits. The 9115-AT provides built-in automotive test functions including the capability to simulate common test conditions to ensure reliability of electrical and electronic devices installed in automobiles. The 9116 offers a higher voltage range up to 150 V, making these new models suitable for automotive as well as a variety of benchtop or ATE system applications. 9115-AT: $2,345; 9116: $1,995. Ethernet I/O Module

A new addition to the vendor’s Ethernet family of products, the Model ETH-DIO-48, is designed for compact control and monitoring applications. It features 48 or 24 industrial-strength TTL digital I/O lines and is suitable for adding portable, easy-to-install digital I/O to any Ethernet network, even wirelessly. Each I/O line is buffered and capable of sourcing 32 mA or sinking 64 mA. Jumper-selected resistors permit user configuration of I/O lines for pull-up (to +5 VDC), pull-down (to ground), or floating, depending on the application requirement. Pull-ups are useful for contact monitoring and assure that there are no erroneous outputs at power-up until the board is initialized by system software. Connections to the board are made via two industry-standard, 50-pin IDC-type headers. Each header has three 8-bit I/O ports designated A, B, and C. Each port can be programmed as inputs or outputs. For external circuits, 0.5-A fused +5-VDC power is available at pin 49 on each I/O connector. From $179.  ACCES I/O Products
