Atomic force microscope

The ultrafast-scanning 9500 atomic force microscope system seamlessly integrates new software, a new high-bandwidth digital controller, and a state-of-the-art mechanical design to provide scan rates of up to 2 s/frame (256 x 256 pixels). Engineered with scientific and industrial R&D users in mind, the 9500 is suitable for a range of advanced AFM applications associated with materials science, life science, polymer science, and electrical characterization.

The ultrafast scan rates of the 9500 AFM are made possible by Keysight’s new Quick Scan technology. Available as a system option, Quick Scan is controlled through NanoNavigator, a new imaging and analysis software package from the vendor. In addition to supporting Quick Scan functionality, NanoNavigator software lets researchers save time by using a new Auto Drive feature that automatically and optimally sets all parameters for the 9500. The ARM Cortex A-8 runs at 1 GHz with 2-GB onboard flash memory and has interfaces for USB host and client plus Ethernet and SD card. The DT7816 is priced at $1,195. Data Translation

Precision power analyzer

The Model WT3000E precision power analyzer offers power measurement accuracy of 0.01% of reading +0.03% of range. This new addition to the vendor’s digital power analyzer line provides functions that benefit the engineer needing to make electrical power measurements. It is a suitable measurement solution for testing product efficiency and the design of inverters, motor drives, lighting systems, uninterruptible power supplies, transformers, aircraft power systems, and other power conversion devices.

The WT3000E precision power analyzer is the enhanced model of the existing WT3000. The instrument includes a high-resolution 8.4-inch TFT LCD, making it simple to set up and display up to nine different pages of measurement items in numerical formats as well as waveforms, harmonic-spectrum bar graphs, and trends. In addition, a vector display is available for voltage and current phase analysis. Yokogawa Corp. of America

Networks for conducted emissions testing

Two high-voltage artificial networks are designed for conducted emissions tests and line termination during susceptibility tests for components. The HV-AN 150 and HV-AN S150 are suitable for use in automotive, military, and airborne standards applications. These two new line impedance stabilization networks offer a unique approach to e-mobility as well as help meet the need for increasing voltage and current values inside vehicles.

HV-AN 150 provides a universal solution with its jumper settings that cover the traditional way of testing as performed in CISPR 12, CISPR 25, and ISO 7637-2. The combination of two networks in a shielded box enables testing of shielded high-voltage connections as seen in standard drafts of CISPR 12, CISPR 25, and ISO 7637-4. The HV-AN S150 features a special high-voltage connector that avoids shielding problems. Teseq

USB digital I/O device

The USB-DIO32HS high-speed digital I/O device features 32 high-speed digital I/O channels that are 50 times faster than previous devices from the vendor. The USB-DIO32HS has input and output rates up to 8 MS/s. Independent input and output scan clocks, hardware and software triggering, and pattern detection/generation also are included.

Microsoft Windows software options for the USB-DIO32HS incorporate TracerDAQ to display and log data along with comprehensive support for C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and Visual Basic .NET. Support also is included for DASYLab and NI LabVIEW. Support for Android devices allows users to develop apps for tablets and smartphones. Measurement Computing

DC power supplies

The 9130B Series linear triple-output power supply line offers three isolated outputs that can be adjusted independently or combined in series or parallel to output higher voltage or current. Each model in the series has a different configuration of variable output voltage and current on two channels: 0 to 30 V, 0 to 3 A (9130B); 0 to 30 V, 0 to 6 A (9131B); and 0 to 60 V, 0 to 3 A (9132B). The third channel output is rated at 0 to 5 V, 0 to 3 A for all models.

Other features include a timer-controlled output function along with internal memory to store and recall up to 36 different instrument settings. The supplies are backed by a standard three-year warranty with list prices from $1,065 to $1,465. B&K Precision

DDS USB signal generator

The USB-stick-sized TDDS100-48 is a laboratory-quality direct digital synthesized RF signal source with a frequency range of 1 Hz to 100 MHz able to deliver 0-dBm output power from its SMA female socket. The TDDS100-48 USB-controlled high-purity source can be swept in steps as low as 1 Hz between any two frequencies in its specified range. Frequency changes are phase-continuous, so there are no glitches, and phase noise is better than -140 dBc at 100 kHz. Second and third harmonics are below -60 dBc at 10 MHz. Saelig

Regenerative grid simulator

The PAS-F Series of programmable three-phase utility grid simulators combines utility grid simulation and a regenerative bidirectional AC source that is capable of both sourcing and sinking the full current load from the DUT. With power levels ranging from 45 kVA to 1.6 MVA, the series is capable of testing the largest of dispersed energy inverters.

When testing dispersed energy products such as PV inverters, energy storage systems, and wind turbines, the traditional test setup requires a load bank in parallel with the DUT and AC source. The PAS-F does not require the parallel load. Instead, full DUT current is sunk into the AC source, and 92% of the power is regenerated back to the utility grid, saving energy and reducing system cooling requirements. Intepro Systems
