Thermocouple simulator modules

Series 41-760 millivolt thermocouple simulator modules are available in a choice of eight, 16, 24, or 32 channels—each channel providing a low-voltage output across two connector pins capable of providing ±20 mV with 0.7-µV resolution, ±50 mV with 1.7-µV resolution, and ±100 mV with 3.3-µV resolution.

These new thermocouple simulators use two-wire outputs with a remote output reference sense to ensure the modules deliver accurate low-level voltages even if the system has common-mode voltages present. In addition, each simulation channel provides an open-circuit setting to simulate faulty wiring connections to a sensor. For improved accuracy, each channel of the low-voltage source carries accurate calibration data stored on the module. The module also includes a calibration multiplexer for module test and verification purposes. Pickering Interfaces

Portable/bench DMM

The DMM 1908 programmable digital multimeter offers the accuracy of a 5.5-digit bench DMM with the convenience of battery operation. The battery supports more than 35 hours of operation and provides isolation from the mains to aid low-level measurement integrity. The USB interface is fully accessible in battery mode, allowing full data logging when used with a laptop PC.

USB is standard on the 1908 model, with the 1908P version adding LAN/LXI, GPIB, and RS-232 interfaces. Both models are supplied with the 1908-PC Link, which provides a graphical user interface for remote control. A logging function enables measurements to be recorded at set time intervals and displayed in both graphical and tabular views. The logged data can be exported to a CSV file. Aim-TTi

GigE Vision PoE+ frame grabber

The PCIe-GIE72/74 PCI Express GigE Vision Power over Ethernet (PoE)+ frame grabbers provide support for a range of machine-vision applications. Key assets, such as cameras and other equipment, are secured from damage by the PCIe-GIE72/74’s PoE power protection. In addition, a user-friendly PoE management utility and APIs monitor and control PoE ports in real time and enable prediction of possible failure events.

Any number of PCIe-GIE72/74 cards can be installed in a single system without occupying any BIOS I/O resources. Combined with operating-temperature tolerance from 0°C to 70°C, the multicard capability makes the PCIe-GIE72/74 suitable for deployment with fanless computers in environments with limited space and in applications such as automated optical inspection and industrial automation. Digital piezo controller

A new four-channel version of the high-performance E-727 digital piezo controller is designed for multi-axis nanopositioning applications such as 3D imaging in super-resolution microscopy, laser-beam steering, image stabilization in astronomy, and fast alignment applications including fiber alignment and semiconductor CD testing.

In addition to a choice of digital high-speed interfaces, such as SPI, Ethernet, USB, and traditional RS-232, it provides three high-resolution analog inputs. Low-noise 20-bit DACs and ADCs provide high resolution and stability. Four integrated piezo power amplifiers with an output range of -30 to +130 V as well as circuitry for capacitive feedback sensors, piezoresistive sensors, and traditional strain gages also are onboard.

PXIe AWGs

The M4x Series of PXIe arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs) serve automated testing applications that require fast and accurate electronic signal generation. The M4x Series includes five new modules that provide one, two, or four channels. Each channel is equipped with 16-bit DAC technology, and the various models have maximum clocking rates of 625 MS/s or 1.25 GS/s. The combination of high resolution and fast clocking rates makes them suitable for generating precise and flexible wave shapes with frequency content from DC to 400 MHz.

The dual-width 3U AWGs feature a PXIe x4 Gen 2 interface that allows waveform data to be transferred to the module’s 4 GB of onboard memory at speeds up to 1.4 GB/s. Fully PXIe compliant, the modules can be used in any PXIe or PXI hybrid chassis. Support also is provided for chassis distribution features such as the PXIe/PXI reference clock, star-trigger, and trigger bus. Spectrum Instrumentation

Ultralow-noise LDO regulator

The LT3045 power-supply ripple-rejection (PSRR) low-dropout (LDO) voltage linear regulator is a higher output-current version of the vendor’s 200-mA LT3042 ultralow noise LDO. The LT3045’s design features ultralow spot noise of 2 nV/√Hz at 10 kHz and 0.8 μV RMS integrated output noise across a 10-Hz to 100-kHz bandwidth. Low-frequency PSRR is greater than 90 dB out to 10 kHz, and high-frequency PSRR exceeds 70 dB out to 2.5 MHz, thereby quieting noisy or high ripple input supplies.

The LT3045 delivers up to 500-mA output current with a 260-mV dropout voltage at full load across a wide 1.8-V to 20-V input voltage range. The output voltage range is 0 to 15 V, and the output voltage tolerance is ±2% over line, load, and temperature. The device’s wide input and output voltage ranges, high bandwidth, high PSRR, and ultralow-noise performance make it suitable for powering noise-sensitive medical imaging and diagnostics applications. Link training tool

A new 100G link training tool for use with the vendor’s DPO70000SX family of oscilloscopes addresses critical needs in the growing datacenter market. Featuring patented Asynchronous Time Interleaving signal acquisition technology, the DPO70000SX platform is suitable for validating and troubleshooting high-speed Ethernet communications links.

Link training is a complex sequence of negotiations between transmitter and receiver to determine optimal transceiver settings. The new link training tool analyzes and displays the protocol, timing, and PHY signaling associated with the negotiation of 100-Gb/s links. This insight allows designers to verify the link training process and quickly pinpoint problems when links fail to train. Tektronix

2,500-W 1U industrial power supplies

The RFE2500 AC/DC power supplies deliver up to 2,500 W of output power in a low-profile 1U package and feature rugged screw-terminal and bus-bar connections. These industrial supplies are suitable for use in many applications requiring reliable 12-V, 24-V, or 48-V bulk power.

Operating efficiencies of 90% to 93% minimize waste heat dissipation and ease system cooling requirements. With a universal input of 85 to 265 VAC, the RFE2500 supplies find application in communications, factory automation, test and measurement equipment, and broadcast/RF amplifiers.

Options include a I2C/PMBus serial communications port for remote programming of the output voltage and remote on/off. In addition, the output voltage, output current, internal temperature, and status signals can be monitored. TDK-Lambda

3D printer

A new generation of FluidWRITER printers creates printed electronics directly on 3D surfaces. FluidWRITER printers incorporate the vendor’s FluidANT print technology, which enables the use of conductive ink to produce high-performance antennas, sensors, and electrical circuits on 3D surfaces.

The FluidWRITER IV Series consists of two models. The FluidWRITER IV R&D tabletop model provides an affordable entry option to printing and printed product development. The FluidWRITER IV production model is designed for high-speed, high-precision production operations that want the capability of printing on 3D surfaces. The printhead is based on a linear XYZ motion system, and printhead operation is synchronized to real-time actual motion, which makes the system capable of precise dosing in high speeds.
