Active FET probe kit

The CT4121A, a new active FET probe kit, is compact with high input resistance and low input capacitance. With a 1.2-GHz bandwidth (-3 dB), this probe is suitable for timing analysis or troubleshooting of high-speed logic circuits, for design verification of disk drives, and for wireless and data communication design. The CT4121 can measure up to ±40 V (DC + AC peak). Compatible with oscilloscopes from major manufacturers, the probe is powered by the included 9-V battery or direct from the oscilloscope using the included USB power lead. Attenuation is 10x, and accuracy is ±2%. Input resistance and capacitance are 1 MΩ and 3 pF typical. Rise time (probe only) is 291 ps. Output voltage swing is ±1.5 V (driving a 50-Ω oscilloscope input). The probe comes with a power indicator LED and an SMD accessory kit. Cal Test Electronics

Microscope eyepieces

Although eyepieces are typically sold as a set, these eyepieces are sold separately for convenience and ease of use. They attach to a variety of microscope systems and feature designs made up of an achromatic doublet and a single plano-convex lens, where both convex surfaces face one another. The eyepieces are suited for use with standard achromatic objectives and upright, brightfield microscope systems. The RoHS-compliant eyepieces are offered as standard parts with different magnifications, focal lengths, and field stops. Three standard magnifications are available in 10X, 15X, and 20X, with effective focal lengths of 25 mm, 16.7 mm, and 12.5 mm. Two 10X models are offered, with field stops of 18 mm and 22 mm, and eye relief of 19.85 mm and 20 mm, respectively. Widefield and DIN-45mm versions are also available, with the widefield version offering an adjustable diopter. The new microscope eyepieces are in-stock and available for immediate delivery. 3-kVA AC sources

The Asterion 1503 supplies up to 1,500 VA or 1,500 W, the Asterion 2253 supplies up to 2,250 VA or 2,250 W, and the Asterion 3003 supplies up to 3,000 VA or 3,000 W. All three units come in a 2U enclosure and in both single- and three-phase models. With the vendor’s iX2 current-doubling technology, as the output voltage decreases from the maximum value to one-half the maximum value, the available output current increases up to two times the rated output current. This allows Asterion to maintain maximum power through a wide range of voltages. As a result, iX2 eliminates the need to buy multiple sources or overpowered sources to run tests at different voltage levels, such as when performing low line-voltage testing. Other unique Asterion benefits include auto-paralleling and clock/lock. Asterion offers wide AC and DC output voltage ranges up to 400 VAC and 500 VDC. Load and line regulation are ±0.025% and ±0.015%, respectively. The supplies’ intuitive touchscreen interface allows users to quickly and easily set up the source and run tests. The Asterion offers an avionics test suite as an option, with a programmable frequency between 16 Hz and 5,500 Hz. This set of features allows Asterion to be used in both the lab and in ATE systems. Communication controller

The Series 61 communication controller portfolio has been extended to support CAN/CAN-FD, FlexRay, K-Line, and LIN. As of now, all interfaces are compatible with Linux. The interface has been ported, but function names and parameters remain unchanged, so users can easily develop platform-independent software. The G-API (GOEPEL electronic Application Programming Interface) only supported Windows-based systems before. The new release is specially ported for the Linux version openSUSE Leap 42.2; other versions are supported on request. The Series 61 controller platform provides powerful and flexible simulation and test scenarios for various vehicle bus systems. The new architecture includes a large pool of options that allow the user to individually and flexibly configure or enhance the controllers to fit their specific needs. GOEPEL Electronics

PoE transformers

The vendor’s expanded line of low-cost, high-performance transformers support the full range of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications including IEEE 802.3af (15.4 W max), IEEE 802.3at (30 W), Cisco UPoE, and other higher-power PoE extensions up to 60 W. The low-profile, surface-mount devices operate over a wide frequency range, provide high isolation (1,500 V) and are available in forward and flyback topologies. These transformers are designed for use with power-management integrated circuits (PMICs) from major manufacturers including Akros Silicon, Texas Instruments, and Broadcom for application in both Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and PoE Powered Devices (PD). In addition, many of these parts are directly cross-referenced with Pulse Electronics and CoilCraft devices. The PoE transformers are offered in two series: the EP Series (3 W to 27 W) and the EFD15 Series (1 W to 60 W). Premier Magnetics

Antenna-analysis software

A new version of XGtd, high-frequency antenna-analysis software for electrically large platforms, introduces a GPU-accelerated radar cross section (RCS) model that speeds calculations for very complex geometries. The new model leverages the vendor’s X3D ray-tracing technology, which runs on GPUs and uses multithreading to achieve shorter run times. Computation times are reduced to minutes as opposed to hours or days. In addition, the tool boosts accuracy for RCS calculations of tremendously detailed targets, supporting high-resolution CAD models with hundreds of thousands of facets. Targeted ray shooting ensures comprehensive coverage of finely-faceted models. Remcom

64-Gbaud BERT

The M8040A high-performance bit error ratio tester (BERT) tests PAM-4 and NRZ devices that operate up to 64 Gbaud. Higher transmission rates, more transmission lanes, and new multilevel data formats, such as PAM-4, address the increased transmission bandwidth demand for the next-generation data center interconnects. The latest revisions of IEEE 802.3bs and OIF CEI-56G implementation agreements define PAM-4 and NRZ interfaces for electrical chip-to-chip, chip-to-module, backplane connection, and optical interfacing for up to 400-Gb/s bandwidth. The new M8040A is the latest member of the modular AXIe-based M8000 series of BER test solutions and is a highly integrated BERT that supports PAM-4 signals up to 64 Gbaud and NRZ signals up to 64 Gb/s. The pattern generator module provides built-in de-emphasis, jitter injection, and an optional second channel. Engineers and designers can select PAM-4 and NRZ by software in the user interface, eliminating the need for external combiners, cabling, and deskew to provide PAM-4 signals. For best signal quality, remote heads reduce the distance to the device under test. The analyzer module provides true PAM-4 error analysis in real-time for long PRBS and QPRBS patterns. Users can control the M8040A from a graphical and remote-control interface. Keysight

DC/DC converters

A range of high-voltage input DC/DC converters for microgrid, datacenter, and industrial applications, HVDC/DC converters operate with an input voltage range of 180 VDC to 425 VDC and deliver output power levels from 150 W to 750 W. The range of applications powered by high-voltage DC supplies is rapidly expending. All of these applications require ready-to-use, board-mounted power converters. The PQB-PHB-PFB300S Series converters are specifically designed for such applications. They are built around a high-efficiency topology, have a layout optimized for thermal conduction, feature an input/output isolation of 3,000 VAC minimum, and deliver output voltages from 3.3 VDC to 48 VDC. PQB-PHB-PFB300S HVDC/DC converters are fully encapsulated, and they are designed to operate within a wide temperature range, down to -40° C. As required for HVDC bus voltage applications, all products have an input to output isolation of 3,000 VAC minimum. The input to case isolation is 2,500 VAC and output to case is 500 VAC. The isolation resistance is 10^7 Ω minimum. The PQB-PHB-PFB300S Series meet the requirements of UL60950-1, EN60950-1, and IEC60950-1 standards and CE mark 2014/30/EU. Powerbox
