Designed to help reduce development time for a wide variety of Infiniband products, the HDMP-2840 product development kit consists of an eight-port, 4x Infiniband switch box, software, and documentation. The kit is based on the company's HDMP-2840 switch chip, reportedly the industry's first such device with eight full-duplex ports, each operating at 10 Gb/s.Users can connect the system under test via an Ethernet or RS-232 interface, with system status monitored via panel-mounted LEDs and two external ports. Assuming the host system includes the Infiniband protocol or target-channel adapters, designers can employ any Infiniband-compliant subnet management software, including the company's subnet management software that runs on a PowerPC processor with 64 MB memory. Application memory is stored in flash memory, allowing users to customize the system. The kit costs $10,000. For more information, contact Tony Chance at REDSWITCH INC., Milpitas, CA.
