A new 10- to 20-W buck dc-dc converter provides output voltages from 2.5 to 25 V from inputs up to 30 V. The manufacturer’s high-temperature microcircuit integration technology ensures high reliability at operation up to 225°C. The module is the first product from the partnership of C-MAC MicroTechnology and CISSOID. It is based on CISSOID’s ETNA design. This converter is aimed initially at down-well applications in the energy market. As a result, it is packaged in a hermetic enclosure designed for small-diameter bores (approximately 1 to 2 in.) to fulfil the space envelope requirements of drilling tool manufacturers. A full range of package configurations will be available to suit the different requirements of aerospace, defence, and other markets.
