Cutting energy costs by up to 80% for burn-in/ESS, the Loadsaver programmable electronic load routes the generated heat energy through a dc-to-ac converter and back to the main ac supply for reuse. The combined efficiencies of the load and converter provides up to 80% to 90% savings on utility bills. Further savings can be realized because there is less need for costly air handling and water cooling equipment. The system is intended for telecomm, power switching, power supply and battery testing equipment. The system provides up to a 166 kW load. Automated control and monitoring over RS-232 single-drop, RS-485 multi-drop or IEEE 488 interfaces simplifies integration into in-house quality assurance programs. Price is $10,000.
