In addition to radiation specs in the realm of a total ionizing dose greater than 100K Rad(Si) and a single event effect linear energy transfer of heavy ions greater than 82 MeV.cm2/mg in accordance with MIL-STD-883, the LS series low-voltage, single- and dual-output dc/dc converters include a MIL-STD-461C CE03-compliant EMI filter. The modules deliver isolated output voltages from 1.5V to 15.0V with typical efficiency ratings up to 83%, reportedly at least 5% more than comparable devices. Including the EMI filter promises to simplify power management circuits found in satellite applications including low Earth orbit, middle Earth orbit, geostationary Earth orbit, and in scientific missions with long life requirements of up to 15 years. The fixed-frequency, single-ended forward converters switch at 575 kHz and feature 18V to 40V input ranges, magnetically-coupled feedback, adjustable output voltages, and a weight of less than 85g. Pricing begins at $6,500 each. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7726.
