Specially engineered to provide quick integration into PLLs, the SMV1679A surface-mount, low-profile voltage controlled oscillator is designed for use in wireless locating applications. The device generates frequencies between 1678 MHz to 1680 MHz within a controlled voltage range of 0 to 3 Vdc, allowing the error voltage to be taken directly from the IC's charge pump circuitry.
The chip, which measures only 0.3" x 0.3" x 0.08", conserves energy by drawing only 6 mA of current from a 2.7 Vdc supply. It exhibits spectral purity of -87 dBc/Hz, typical, at 10 kHz from the carrier. The device is suited for automated SMT assembly and reflow. Pricing is $15.95 each.
