CompactPCI Backplane Employs Two P47 Connectors

Dec. 1, 1999

Designed to provide N+1 redundancy for 3U systems, this 8-slot, 64-bit-bus CompactPCI backplane employs a pair of P47 power supply connectors that allow more current to be routed to the system sites employing 5, 3.3 or 12 vdc. The backplane also includes connections for an on/off switch for each power supply, a 10-pin utility connector, an ac input connector, and a single-screw configuration for 5V or 3.3V VIO operation. The on/off switches can be easily routed to the 2-post connectors at the rear of the backplane, and the utility connector contains signals for LEDs that can be mounted on the front panel, as well as 5V and GND.
