Predicting simpler designs, the CL320, CL325, and CL330 LED drivers provide three channels of constant current output, capable of powering three LED strings at currents of 20 mA, 25 mA, and 30 mA each, respectively. Available in eight-lead, power SOIC packages, they require just a single ceramic bypass capacitor, making PCB designs a bit easier. Several drivers can share the same capacitor. The devices provide separate enable pins for each channel, allowing PWM dimming, three-step linear dimming, or individual disconnection of any faulty LED string. Other features include over-temperature protection, a 90V standoff voltage, and a fixed drive current with a ±6% tolerance over a Vout range of 4V to 15V. Prices for the CL320, CL325, and CL330 are $0.90, $0.91, and $0.92 each/1,000, respectively. SUPERTEX INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 222-9883.
