New Posted IDCs Eliminate Mismatings

July 1, 2000

Offering a compact design, the new 0.100" centerline MTA-100 line of posted insulation displacement connectors (IDCs) are fully shrouded to eliminate connector mismatings. Terminations using IDCs permit one-step wire assembly while color coding helps identify wire size. The MTA-100 posted IDCs mate with standard MTA-100 IDCs and are suitable for use with 22-28 AWG discrete wire or ribbon cable. Closed-end versions of the connectors are available with 2 through 19 positions, while the feed-through style comes only in a 16-position size. Typical wire-to-wire applications of the IDCs include fitness equipment , fuel dispensing equipment, TVs, laser printers and lighting systems. The unit price of tin-plated MTA-100 posted IDCs in quantities of 10,000 is $0.06 per line.
