LCD Backlighting Panels With White LEDs Provide High Light Output

Custom backlighting panels with high-brightness white LEDs provide high-contrast, high-output backlighting for LCDs. The LEDs emit light with CIE color coordinates of X=0.310 and Y=0.320 with peak frequencies of 451 nm and 552 nm. They are suited for monochrome applications; their low power consumption makes the LEDs ideal for portable products in which battery life is a concern. Just four to six LEDs can reportedly backlight 1/4-VGA LCDs.
