Designed for high current applications, the Model OD-663 GaAlAs infrared LED (IRLED) illuminator provides a peak emission of 880 nm and a total output power of 150 mW minimum. Under test conditions where IF=300 mA, output power reaches 170 mW. The illuminator is made of three, 0.03 in.2 chips connected in series with beryllium-oxide substrates on a gold-plated, TO-66 header package. Total output power is calculated as approximately three times the power output of each chip at the same drive current. Price is $16.40 each/100. OPTO DIODE CORP., Newbury Park, CA. (805) 499-0335.
