Set for emerging solid-state lighting applications, the LK3 series of surface-mount, 3W/700-mA LED modules provides a brightness up to 90 lumens over a wavelength range from 465 nm to 8,000 nm. The module employs Cree XLamp technology and comes in a ready-to-use, lead-free module packaged in a metal core PCB base that uses standard reflow technologies. The case integrates a domed lens and operates in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C and it can withstand ESD in excess of 2 kV per Mil-Std-883D. Viewing angle is 100° with full-spectrum wavelengths available from 465 nm to 635 nm and in white to 8,000 nm. Lens appearance when off is transparent water clear. Prices start from $6 each in production quantities. BIVAR INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 772-2377.
