Dubbed the LUXEON Portable PWT1 emitter and claimed as the market’s smallest power LED designed for flashlights and other portable lighting, the emitter generates 26 lumens at 350 mA from a package measuring 2 mm x 1.6 mm x 0.7 mm. The component specifies a 2,000-hour lifespan. Reportedly 75% smaller than other LEDs with similar light output, the component enables manufacturers to build flashlights with smaller optics, smaller form factors, and less weight. Other features include a JEDEC level 1 moisture-sensitivity rating, an 8-kV ESD protection chip, and lead-free, RoHS compliance. PHILIPS LUMILEDS LIGHTING CO., San Jose, CA. (888) 589-3662
