The Multipulse SIDAC Series thyristors for voltage switching applications feature high temperature operation and guaranteed high switching speeds. The guaranteed switching speed comes by allowing multiple sparks per half cycle in metal halide lighting applications requiring multiple strikes per half cycle to ionize the lamp. The components specify a maximum junction temperature of +125°C and switching speeds exceeding 8 kHz. They promise to eliminate the need for costly and complex hybrid circuits for ignition and switching, addressing the trend toward more economical and efficient lighting solutions. The Multipulse SIDAC components are available in a wide range of standard voltages in industry standard axial packaging. In addition, custom voltage ranges and electrical screening and/or markings are available upon request. Four standard versions consist of the K2201G, K2401G, K2501G, and K3601G. Samples are available now. LITTELFUSE INC., Des Plaines, IL. (800) 999-9445.
