A TRIAC-dimmable device, the TPS92210 single-stage LED lighting PWM controller regulates LED current and achieves near unity power factor.

A TRIAC-dimmable device, the TPS92210 single-stage LED lighting PWM controller regulates LED current and achieves near unity power factor. For general lighting apps, it provides operation modes such as peak primary current, constant on-time, and frequency modulation. The constant on-time mode provides single-stage power factor correction and a cascoded MOSFET configuration results in 10% lower switching losses. Protection features include over-voltage protection without optocouplers, thermal shutdown, over-current protection, programmable fault response, full shutdown, and shutdown restart. Available in an eight-pin SOIC package, price is $0.70 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
