The AS3605 power manager governs portable products powered by a single-cell li-ion battery. The device integrates seven low dropout regulators (LDOs), a dc/dc converter, complete battery charger, LED backlight driver, and an audio power amp. The seven programmable LDOs specify a noise figure of 30 μVRMS from 100 Hz to 100 kHz and a line/load regulation less than 1 mV static, less than 10 mV transient, and a power supply rejection of less than 70 dB at 1 kHz.  The step-down dc/dc converter requires no external Schottky diode and operates with a 2.2-MHz switching frequency.  Other features include a 5V/60-mA charge pump, five programmable current sinks, 1W audio power amplifier, and a battery charger. Available in a 40-pin, 5 mm x 5 mm QFN package, price is $1.90 each/1,000. AUSTRIAMICROSYSTEMS USA INC., Raleigh, NC. (919) 676-5292.
